The first attempted was something of a failure. It turned out more like a very soft taffy that we ate with a spoon. The taste was delicious but very stringy and thick.
Here is the recipe we used. It called for white sugar but we have none so I used brown sugar. We substituted coconut oil for butter. We boil the mixture for 11 minutes on medium heat. When we spooned it into the cold water it was stringy. Waited 35 minutes and stirred to loss the glossiness but that did not happen.
9 tble cocoa powder
4 cups White sugar Used Brown sugar
1 1/2 Cups Goat Milk
2 Tbs. Corn Syrup
1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
2 tsp. Vanilla
1/4 tsp. Sea Salt
when you use coconut oil it stays glossy, just put in pan cover with wax paper, (paper side down) and the extra oil should go to paper removing the gloss
